Philippines is definitely facing one of the most challenging crisis to date as we fight against Covid-19. Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) and lockdowns are implemented in almost all parts of the country as positive cases continue to grow in numbers. Helping us get through this pandemic are the “Frontliners” whose dedication to their profession is very much appreciated. Thus, people from different walks of life offer creative ways to cheer and comfort them.
One of them is singer-songwriter, Yeng Constantino who recently released her newly-written song entitled “Kumapit” and the music video of “Dasal”, one of her singles in her album “Synesthesia”.
Yeng specifically wrote “Kumapit” for our frontliners. In her caption, she shared how she was hesitant to post because of the bashing and how deeply sorry she is, pertaining to her past issue, but her will to express gratitude, comfort and hope prevailed. She ended her caption with “Babangon muli ang Pilipinas! Kaya natin to. Kasama natin ang Panginoon.” The posted video will be monetized and the earnings will be donated to the hospitals.
On the other hand, Yeng’s new released music video of her song “Dasal” is very much timely and relatable. It revovles about encountering different kinds of people, capturing their own struggles and prayers.
Both songs are reminders for us to be faithful in times of fear and uncertainty.
As we continue to fight this pandemic, let’s not forget that there is someone greater than this crisis, someone who will fight the battle for us when we no longer can and someone who answers in times of doubt, all we have to do is to hold onto Him. This is also the message that Yeng wants to send us through her songs.
