January 07, 2021

Quezon City – The most streamed Filipino Boys' Love Web Series 'Gaya sa Pelikula' is now streaming on Netflix!

Juan Miguel Severo's Gaya Sa Pelikula (Like In The Movies) started its humble beginning on YouTube that grew viewership with over a million views per episode. It was among the queer shows produced in the country during this pandemic, that set the bar high for the peak of Boys' Love genre.

The romantic comedy web series follows the story of an introvert architecture student who is forced to live on his own for one semester and is left short in funds without a means to pay for his bills, when his mysterious neighbor Vlad proposes that they become housemates for the rest of the semester in exchange for rent.

This hit BL series made waves for fresh-faced actors, Ian Pangilinan and Paolo Pangilinan. These two breakout stars, who happened to share the same surname, easily rose to fame with their impeccable performances in the characters of Vlad and Karl, respectively.

And since their premiere episode in September last year,  Ian and Paolo have always been the talk of the town online, especially on Twitter, making them popular male personalities with solid fanbases.

The series is now available for Netflix viewers across Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hongkong.
