Vocalympics: Vocal Bakbakan To ‘D’ Max successfully held its Grand Finals last night, July 18 live at Cornerstone Entertainment Inc. Facebook page. Known for having different themes weekly, Vocalympics went with a Classic Glitz and Glam theme for the finals. CSTV made sure that the final episode will be very special for the viewers. The Guest Vocalicious Judge, Queen of Teleserye Themesongs, Angeline Quinto made the episode even lively and fun because of her humorous comments and spiels while the Pop Princess of this generation and
the first ever Idol Ph Grand Champion broke the ice when she sang a medley of her songs from Idol PH live shows journey before the announcement of the winner.
From five grand finalists, Marigelle Aguda of Batangas City was hailed as the first-ever Vocalympics Grand Champion. Her solid and amazing performance of “One Moment in Time” for Buwis Buhay Challenge left our Vocalicious Judges speechless. She will receive a cash prize amounting to 50, 000 pesos from CSTV and gift packs from the show’s sponsors.
On the other hand, Jhoebert of Puerto Galera and Shane of Calauan, Laguna were named as runners up. They will also receive cash prizes and gift packs, same with other finalists, Tom from Sta. Cruz, Laguna and Alessandra from La Union.
Marigelle was no doubt, one of the most remarkable Vocalistas ever since the online audition. She stood out when she posted her audition piece “Akin Ka Nalang” with a challenging twist, singing up to two octaves higher from the original key. “Siya ang kumakatawan sa titulo ng ating patimpalak. Pang Olympics talaga.” as Erik Santos, the Head Vocalicious Judge described the Grand Champion. Erik Santos announced that Vocalympics: Vocal Bakbakan To ‘D’ Max will definitely have its season 2.
